Brickell Penthouse: AnArchitectural Belvedere Located at the top of an iconic Brickell tower, this 7,500SFresidence captures panoramic views of the bay and skyline through an architectural language rooted in light and clarity. From the moment you step inside, the view becomes the defining element of the design, guiding spatial organization and material choices. The goal was to open up the layout, remove unnecessary partitions, and allow light and sightlines to flow freely. The plan unfolds as a calm, refined sequence of spaces, all oriented toward the horizon and deeply connected to the outdoors. The centralstaircase, structurally fixed and located in the heart of the living space, was reimagined as a sculptural gesture. It is partially wrapped in matte black Fenix panels and topped by a suspended walnutclad ceiling volume, introducing a powerful geometric interplay that animates the core of the home.Material selection is key to the project’s identity. Walnut is used throughout the floors, walls, and ceilings, bringing warmth and continuity. It contrasts with crisp white surfaces and a striking natural stone: Frammenta Chiaro, used for the kitchen island, architectural frames, and key vertical elements. This stone, with its mineral texture and natural density, anchors the composition in a tactile, grounded elegance. The primary suite offers a refined retreat. Designed along the length of the facade, it faces the water directly and features a continuous wall of stone and vertical walnut slats, creating a serene, enveloping atmosphere. Integrated furniture and carefully controlled lighting enhance its sense of intimacy and balance.
The ensuite bathroom offers an immersive wellness experience. Surrounded by fullheight glass and topped with a walnut ceiling, it extends the space outward toward the bay. A floating double vanity, freestanding bathtub, and minimalist detailing create a sense of openness and tranquility, where every element contributes to the overall calm and sophistication. The doubleheight living room, bathed in natural light, is the architectural heart of the residence. Expansive glazing captures vertical city lines and opens the interior to the vastness of the sky and sea. The furniture, both sculptural and relaxed, defines the contemporary elegance of the space without ever overpowering it.This penthouse is more than a viewing platform. It is a finely crafted composition of volumes, textures, and perspectives, a calm and sophisticated response to the energy of the city below.
