Palm Island: Sculptural Residence
Set on the exclusive Palm Island in Miami, this 15,000SFcontemporary villa stands out through its powerful yet refined architecture. Structured around a continuous interplay of materiality, geometry, and light, the home offers a seamless spatial experience rooted in the tropical landscape.
The architectural composition is defined by bold horizontal volumes, cantilevered to emphasize depth and perspective. The facades reveal a delicate contrast between crisp white overhangs and rich wood cladding that wraps around soffits and ceilings. This material tension adds rhythm to the structure and enhances the shaded outdoor terraces.
Material selection is central to the design intent. The main entrance is anchored by a monumental coral stone wall, its natural texture echoing the geological layers of Florida's coastline. This wall continues indoors, subtly integrating brushed brass inlays that reflect light and add a vertical rhythm to the otherwise monolithic surface. This continuity between interior and exterior establishes a coherent and tactile architectural language.
Water is a defining presence throughout the project. The main pool, clad in a rare deep green marble, creates a vibrant mineral surface that mirrors the architecture and surrounding vegetation. A sequence of secondary water features and reflecting basins defines spatial transitions and enhances the visual depth of the garden.Inside, the design emphasizes restraint and clarity. A curated palette of light wood, white veined marble, and full-height glass surfaces reinforces the sense of calm and sophistication. Wood ceilings contrast with the sharp white architectural edges that frame the outdoor views, particularly around the pool area, where geometry meets reflection.
The interior plan is fluid and open. The ground floor includes expansive living and dining areas, a show kitchen and prep kitchen, a private cinema, and a guest suite. Upstairs, the primary suite is positioned for maximum privacy and views, featuring a panoramic bathroom, dual walk-in closets, and a private terrace. At the top, a rooftop lounge provides an elevated retreat with sweeping views of Miami Beachand downtown Miami.
To the rear, the garden opens onto 100 linear feet of waterfront, anchored by an infinityedge marble pool, a Cabana, a discreet sauna, and a Gym. A six-car garage completes the program with understated efficiency.
Palm Island 135 is more than a residence. It is a statement of contemporary architectural precision, where landscape, light, and materials come together to define a lifestyle rooted in elegance, serenity, and climate conscious design.
